To mark the 35th Anniversary of the Montreal Massacre and with the generous support of the President’s Office, Wanda Campbell has published a booklet of poems she has written over the years for Acadia’s annual December 6th ceremony for the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. A Cairn of Poems is available for a donation of $10 or more (with all proceeds going to the Mi’kmaw Family Healing Centre and Chrysalis House) at the Acadia Book Store and at this year’s ceremony to be held on Friday, December 6 at 4pm at the Wolfville Farmer’s market.

The Annual Conference of the Atlantic Medieval Association is happening at Acadia University November 15-16!

The conference opens with a mediaeval sampler session at 2:30 on the 15th; over the two days, our speakers discuss a range of topics, including vernacular languages, mediaeval women (and rape laws, and in family affairs, and in business), religion, medicine, philosophy, East-West crossovers, and literature and reception (including mediaeval weapons in modern literature and film).

Audience attendance is free and open to all, including and especially for the plenary lecture: ‘In Search of the Sea-Kings: The Forgotten Kingdom of Man and the Isles, 1079-1275’, by Professor R.
