Acadia English Association

Each year the AEA organizes a variety of activities, including film nights, book sales, and readings. Members of the society also help to organize Acadia’s participation at the Annual Atlantic Undergraduate English Conference. This exciting event, which enables students from across this region to meet with peers at other institutions to share their work, is hosted each year by an Atlantic Canadian university or by one of the University of Maine campuses. Acadia has traditionally been well represented by students who deliver academic papers or read from their creative writing. The conference was last held at Acadia in 2020, when over sixty participants from a dozen Atlantic universities joined us for a full weekend of sessions and special events.

Students who are interested in participating in the conference should look for posters with information about how to submit their work in January of each year.

Membership in the English Association is open to all English Majors and Honours students. Many of the association’s events are open to all interested students and faculty.
