Librarian

After leaving Acadia, I went into a Master of Arts program that focused on Children’s Literature at University of British Columbia. After completing that I decided to continue my education and get a Master of Library and Information Science degree at UBC. With these degrees I have found a job that I adore as a Librarian at the Vancouver Public Library (in a building that looks like the Colosseum in Rome). Not only do I get to work with children, but I can also with adult learners, immigrant populations, and answer reference questions about anything and everything.

Acadia, and specifically the English Department, gave me all that I needed and then some to pursue my passions. I developed my love of children’s literature long before my time at Acadia, but through the amazing English program, and supportive professors that I found there, I was able to foster that love into an academic pursuit and finally a career path. I was able to explore all avenues of my interest while at Acadia, while getting a world-class education that left me more than prepared for grad school. My peers and the professors at Acadia allowed me to discover the fun side of literature which I take into every program at the library to give to the next generation of readers.
