Today, 11 February 2026 - Acadia University will be closing at 5:30pm due to the forecasted weather conditions. All classes scheduled to start at 5:30pm and later are canceled. Students and employees are not expected to come to campus. Only employees deemed essential are required to report to work. Residence buildings and Wheelock Dining Hall will be operational.

Twenty-Minute Talk

Professor Jon Saklofske, Assistant Professor Paul Barrett, and MA student Christna Stubbs conduct research in the field of Digital Humanities at Acadia University. As part of the Department of English and Theatre’s Twenty-Minute Talks lecture series, you are invited to attend a presentation from these scholars on Friday, March 23rd from 12:00-1:00pm in BAC 235. Jon will present “Spreadable Jams: Using Game Jam Paradigms to Encourage Innovative Social Scholarship” and Paul and Christna will jointly discuss their research in a talk titled “Digitally Reading Canada Reads.” Please bring your lunch and join us for this preview of current research in the Department of English and Theatre.
