Invitation to Virtual Presentation by Margaret Finlay

Good news for Acadia English alumni! On Monday September 29 at Noon (our time), former Acadia English Honours student Margaret Finlay is giving a twenty-minute talk (and discussion) on ‘Gawain and the Hundred Years War: Chivalry and Identity Politics in Late Medieval Arthurian Romance’. This talk is based on Margaret’s important PhD thesis which she is pursuing at the University of Groningen. Margaret’s paper follows a longer lecture by her supervisor, the excellent Professor Megan Leitch.

Wanda Campbell Book Launch

Thursday September 18 at 7pm
Acadia Art Gallery

Wanda Campbell will launch her latest poetry collection, Spring Theory (Pottersfield Press). The book travels from fall’s darkness to spring’s light with poems inspired by Alex Colville’s images of the Annapolis Valley, prose poem tributes to Canadian writers, and the lost sonnets of “Dementia Diary Down Under” that delve into the unpredictable experiences of aging relatives. Wanda has published five other poetry collections and a novel, Hat Girl. She teaches Creative Writing and Literature at Acadia.

Books will be available to purchase (cash only).
