Alix Shield presented a paper based on her thesis at a Conference in St Andrews Scotland:
"Crossing Over: Thresholds and Points of Crossing in J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter Series". The two-day conference, entitled: "A Brand of Fictional Magic: Reading Harry Potter as Literature" drew a gathering of approximately sixty international scholars.
