FACE4: Confabulations
A High School Liaison Committee initiative, the idea for FACE4: Confabulations came from a Bridgetown teacher familiar with Oxford University’s Wall of 100 Faces as we were discussing ways to help high school students anticipate the expectations of University studies in English.
The result is a series of student videos that glimpse into the variety of a dozen English and Theatre student experiences in our Department, from first year through to 4th and 5th year undergraduates.
We’ve called the project FACE4 to match our department newsletter, VOICE 4—the number refers to the 4th floor on which the Department is located and plays on its homonym “for.” FACE4 is for prospective students as well as for our own students. The confabulations presented on these short videos will give you ideas about workload, extracurricular activities, university life, and the town of Wolfville.
The Department and High School Liaison Committee wish to acknowledge the hard work of Johnny Cann and Danielle Pierce in realizing this project, particularly Johnny without whose equipment and expertise we’d still be only talking about the idea. Special thanks also to the students featured in these videos for their time and enthusiasm.
