WRITING AND READING CRITICALLY

Throughout this course we will read works from the main genres of poetry, the novel, the short story, drama, and the essay in order to develop a critical appreciation of significant literary texts from the past and present.  As well as exploring some of the methods by which writers communicate ideas, impressions, and feelings, emphasis will be placed on speaking and writing more precisely, clearly, and effectively.
