BA/BAH in English
All undergraduate arts students must complete the "Arts Core" in order to meet degree requirements. Students are encouraged to take as many of these in their first year as they can, but they can be taken in any year of the degree program.
- 6 hours in a single language: French, German, Greek, Latin, Spanish
- 6 hours from Economics, Political Science, or Sociology
- 6 hours from History, Art, Music, Philosophy, Classics or Comparative Religion (studio classes in art and music do not fulfil this requirement)
- 6 hours of science
Students may obtain a BA in English or a BA in English with Honours. The Honours degree may be course based or thesis based. The Honours program is designed for students who have a special interest in English. Those who intend to enter journalism, teaching, archival studies, public relations, publishing studies or graduate school, will find the Honours program particularly valuable.
